Recognizing that you are perpetuating generational behaviors and continuing to carry those curses is not enough.

In fact, knowing better while continuing the same old behaviors is worse than being ignorant to them in the first place.

At least ignorance has the excuse of not knowing.

But awareness followed by repetition?

That’s a choice.

How many of you truly look in the mirror and honestly see where you are lacking?

Not where everyone else failed you.
Not where life was unfair.
Not where your trauma began.

👉 YOU.

You may notice it.
You may feel it.
You may even talk about it endlessly.

But what do you actually do with that information?

Do you make excuses?
Bypass it?
Spiritualize it?
Blame your astrology chart, your childhood, your ex, your nervous system, or your “healing journey”?

Because if you cannot sit in the shit stew long enough to recognize where you are the one keeping it alive…

you are not doing yourself—or the people coming after you—any favors.

When you continue doing what your mother, father, siblings, grandparents, and bloodline have always done, you create the same path for your children and grandchildren.

If you want something different for them…

👉 YOU have to become different first.

And here’s the part most people don’t want to hear:

Change does not happen in meditation.
It does not happen while journaling.
It does not happen while overthinking every possible outcome.
And it definitely does not happen in urgency.

Those moments create awareness.

The actual shift happens in the heat of the moment.

When your back is against the wall.
When your nervous system is activated.
When every part of you wants to react the old way…

…and you choose differently anyway.

It’s walking away instead of exploding.
It’s allowing your child to struggle instead of rescuing them.
It’s setting a boundary instead of abandoning yourself to keep the peace.

Real change is choosing differently in the moment—even when it scares the absolute shit out of you—and trusting that something different exists on the other side of that decision.
