The Physical Frequency of the Gut
The Energetic 411
There is so much conversation around gut health right now—and for good reason. We talk about nutrition, food quality, probiotics, inflammation, digestion, and the microbiome. All of those conversations matter.
What still amazes me is how many people remain unaware of the food quality crisis we face in this country. Even many of the foods marketed as “healthy” lack the nutrients our bodies need to grow, age, and thrive well. And don’t get me started on the fast-food industry and what we have accepted as food.
But that is not why we are here today.
Today, I want to talk about the gut beyond its physical function of breaking down food and supplying the body with nutrition.
Because your gut doesn’t just digest food.
It digests life.
For generations, ancient traditions have understood the gut as a center of wisdom. We still hear that truth reflected in everyday language. We say we have a “gut feeling.” We say something is “hard to stomach.” We say we feel “sick to our stomach” when something overwhelms us emotionally.
The language has been there all along.
The body has been telling us.
The area from the pubic bone to the xiphoid process houses many of the organs that sustain life. It is also deeply connected to the autonomic nervous system, the system constantly evaluating safety, threat, stress, rest, and recovery.
Yet most of us pay very little attention to the gut until something feels wrong.
Pain.
Bloating.
Gas.
Constipation.
Diarrhea.
Reflux.
Discomfort.
Those are the notifications we notice because they are loud enough to interrupt us.
Physical Frequency Intelligence™ asks us to become curious much earlier.
What was happening before the discomfort?
What was being held before the symptom?
What was the body trying to communicate before it had to raise its voice?
Personally, I struggled with gut issues for many years—and probably for many years before I even recognized them as gut related. Long before the health crisis that shifted my life in 2013, my body was already whispering through sleep disruption, mood swings, fatigue, brain fog, digestive changes, and periods of feeling completely disconnected from myself.
At the time, I didn’t understand the language.
Today, I recognize that my gut was participating in far more than digestion.
I wasn’t only digesting food.
I was digesting life.
I was carrying stress, responsibility, other people’s emotions, and burdens that were never mine to hold. Stressful interaction after stressful interaction, my body responded. My belly became one of the places where tension gathered, tightened, and stayed.
And there I was, still trying to change it from the outside.
For years—and even until very recently—I continued doing all the things to get my belly flat and healthy. I worked on the food. I worked on movement. I paid attention to digestion. I watched my bowel habits. I became more intentional about my overall health.
Physically, many of those symptoms improved.
But something still kept nagging me.
My belly still felt alien.
My arms, legs, waist, and glutes were all transforming, but my belly struggled to follow. No matter how much progress I made elsewhere, it still felt like it didn’t quite belong with the rest of my body.
Something was still being held there.
One morning during my Physical Frequency scan, my gut kept calling for my attention. I did my usual check-in. I asked the questions I normally ask.
Nothing.
No clear answer.
So I left it alone.
I can’t quite remember exactly when the answer arrived, but when it did, it changed everything.
“Use your own medicine, Dina. Heal yourself with your own understanding and know-how.”
That message landed.
Because I have developed a large repertoire of my own medicine over the years.
Meditation.
Breathwork.
Piko Healing.
Hypnotherapy.
Mirror work.
Daily forecasting.
Physical Frequency Intelligence™.
I realized my body wasn’t asking for one more thing to add to a list.
It was asking me to come back to the medicine I already knew.
The answer was movement of stagnant energy through a combination of Piko Healing and intentional Soul Talk.
I’ve started referring to these morning practices as my Soul Sessions.
Before the day begins asking anything of me, I connect with my body. I move stagnant energy. I talk with the parts of myself that have been holding tension. I listen. I ask questions. I breathe. I bring awareness to the gut and create enough space for it to soften instead of grip.
These Soul Sessions have become more than a gut practice.
They are a nervous system practice.
They give my body a chance to feel supported before the day begins. They bring my mind, body, and spirit into the same conversation so I am not trying to carry a high-frequency mindset inside a body that is still bracing for impact.
And the physical changes have already begun to show themselves.
My belly feels softer to the touch.
Less tense.
Less guarded.
Less like it is gripping and preparing for something.
More settled.
More supported.
More like it belongs to me again.
That shift matters because this area of the body holds so much information around identity, relationship to self, personal power, safety, and connection to others.
When the gut is emotionally or physically out of balance, it can affect the way we experience ourselves and the world around us. When we begin creating greater safety and awareness within this space, the effects ripple outward.
That is what I continue to learn through Physical Frequency Intelligence™.
The body is always participating in the life we are living.
It responds to the food we eat, yes.
But it also responds to our thoughts, our emotions, our stress, our relationships, our boundaries, our beliefs, and the weight we continue to carry.
The gut doesn’t simply process what lands on our plate.
It processes what lands in our lives.
And sometimes the very thing we are trying to change physically will not fully shift until we understand what the body is still being asked to hold energetically.
That has been the breakthrough for me.
Not another diet.
Not another workout.
Not another attempt to force my body into submission.
A return to listening.
A return to relationship.
A return to my own medicine.
And as always, I am deeply appreciative of what my own Physical Frequency Intelligence™ continues to teach me.
The body never stops communicating.
The real question is whether we are willing to learn its language.
An Invitation
If you are ready to go deeper into the Physical Frequency of the Gut, join me inside The Physical Frequency Collective.
This week, I’m sharing a short Piko Healing practice you can use to begin exploring one of the ways I work with the gut to support physical and emotional release, nervous system regulation, and overall wellness.
This is not about forcing the body to change.
It is about creating enough safety for the body to begin letting go.
